Original Cast: Penny Fuller in ‘13 Things About Ed Carpolotti’

Here is a bracing, one-of-a-kind musical play created for CD and written by and starring Broadway’s Penny Fuller, with music and lyrics by Barry Kleinbort. It tells the story of Virginia Carpolotti, a widow who receives a mysterious blackmail letter and discovers that her deceased husband, Ed, saddled her with $1 million dollars in debt to various shady individuals, including banks, mobsters and embezzlers.

It could all be very damaging if not paid off post haste, and the play explores Virginia’s journey as she tries to understand her husband’s secrets and navigate the complex situation he left her in. Ultimately she finds a way to honor his memory despite his deceitful actions.
